Caruso, involving health care at some of the prison facilities in Jackson, Michigan: the Charles Egeler Reception and Guidance Center (RGC) (including C-Unit and the Duane Waters Health Center), and the former Southern Michigan Correctional Facility (JMF) before it closed. On this site are some of the recent documents and Court rulings filed in the case, and links to recent and extensive reports by outside medical experts on the inadequacies of prisoner medical care, and psychiatric and psychological experts on the inadequate identification and care of the mentally ill in Michigan’s prisons. See our “Case Updates” page.
